The privacy of those who visit our website is of the utmost concern to Slightindulgencemv.com.  We take every precaution to protect our users’ information including SSL encryption and a pledge to never sell or share any customer information for any reason.  When users submit sensitive information via the website, they can be assured that the information is protected both online and offline.

Return, Refund, & Exchange

Slightindulgencemv.com is fully committed to your satisfaction with our products.  Each piece that we ship is thoroughly inspected to ensure that it meets our highest standards of excellence and quality, including immaculate polishing, before it is carefully packed for safe shipment.

If you are not fully satisfied with any of the items you have received from us, we will gladly refund you for the items purchased in accordance with the following:

  • You may return the purchased item(s) within 30 days of your order’s shipping date.

  • Only items that are in their original shipping condition may be returned.  Any items that have been worn or used, or that have the appearance of such, may not be returned.

  • Please remember that nearly every item that we sell is handmade and, as such, may have the very occasional slight imperfection that gives solid sterling handmade jewelry, indeed anything handmade, its classic individuality.  These slight variations should not be considered defects.

  • If you wish to return a product, simply send an email to us (see Contact on the Home page) and we will get right back to you and guide you through the process including issuing you an RA (return authorization) #.  Absolutely no returns will be accepted without an RA#.  Please be sure to include your name and order number with your email.

  • Refunds will be processed within 14 days after the items are received.  Refunds will be given for the original purchase price indicated on your receipt.  Please note that we can refund shipping costs only if the return is a result of our error.  In all other cases, shipping charges are not refundable.

  • Credits on returned merchandise will be refunded to the original credit card.  Please allow 1-2 billing cycles for the credit card company to process your credit and for it to appear on your statement.

  • Exchanges may be made within 30 days of your order’s shipping date.  Customer will pay all shipping charges.  Please email us and we will guide you through the process.

 Shipping & Delivery

At this time, we offer shipping via USPS Priority Mail.  All packages will be insured and delivered with USPS Delivery Confirmation (tracks packages showing date and time of delivery).  USPS Delivery Confirmation does not require a signature for delivery of the parcel so be sure to choose a safe and secure address for your package to be delivered to.  Missing parcels shown by USPS Delivery Confirmation to have been delivered will not, under any circumstances, be replaced or reimbursed for in any way.  USPS Insurance only provides for items that have been "lost, rifled, or damaged" prior to delivery.  Slightindulgencemv.com accepts liability for all parcels shipped FOB Oak Bluffs, MA (or any other shipping location) in accordance with the above parameters.  Other important shipping and delivery information is as follows:
  • All items will be packaged in an appropriately sized white cotton filled box (with the exception of large neck cuffs which will be packaged in tissue paper) with a very attractive silver foil sticker reading “Slight Indulgence Martha’s Vineyard”.  Each box will then be wrapped in high quality bubble wrap or similar protective feature and then placed in a sturdy, thick box for shipping.  After being in business for 16 years, we know how to do it!

  • Your order will be shipped within 48 hours of your payment being verified.  Exceptions to this are items on backorder and periods when we are out-of-town visiting our artisans on buying trips.  If your item is unavailable when you order it, we will notify you of this by email as quickly as possible and give you an estimate of its time of arrival.  If we are out-of-town we will have a special announcement on our home page. 

  • Because we ship Priority Mail, you will generally receive your package from us 2-3 days after its shipment.

  • Don’t worry if your shipment is damaged upon delivery.  Everything that we ship is insured.  Please contact us and we will investigate the situation and guide you through the process of rectifying the problem.
     
  • Currently we only ship within the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.

Ordering and Billing

Your ordering information will be well protected by Slightindulgencemv.com.  Our credit card processor utilizes 128 bit SSL encryption to help assure that.  In fact, they have earned the “HACKER SAFE” designation which is awarded only to those whose web site’s security meets the highest standards of the United States government, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.  In fact, the site is tested and certified daily to pass the FBI/SANS Internet Security Test.  Hacker safe does not, of course, mean hacker proof but is a relative indication of the security efforts of this web site and its operators.  Slightindulgencemv.com makes no warranty or claim of any kind concerning absolute certainties.

Some important things to know:

  • Slightindulgencemv.com only charges sales tax on orders shipped to Massachusetts addresses.

  • Slightindulgencemv.com currently only accepts orders from the United States.  We reserve the right to reject any orders which we believe to be fraudulent.

  • If you provided a valid email address during the checkout process, you will receive an email confirming shipment.

  • You may pay for purchases at Slightindulgencemv.com using your Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express or ATM card (as long as the card has a Visa symbol on the front of it).
     
  • You may, if you wish, cancel your order anytime before your order is shipped which is typically within 48 hours of placing your order.  Please send us an email indicating the Order Number, the billing name and address, and the reason for canceling your order.  Please do not send credit card information via email.

  • If you have placed an order,  your payment has been verified, and your order has been shipped you are obligated to the purchase.  Please do not refuse to accept the order when it is delivered.  If you do so, we will not accept the returning package and will be unable to process the return.  Please, instead, accept the package and then return it under the guidelines set forth in Return, Refund & Exchange.
     
  • We have embedded very extensive and comprehensive fraud prevention measures within our order processing and verification procedures.  We carefully screen every single transaction for suspicious activity prior to shipping.  When we find an order to be suspicious, we will immediately contact the related parties to initiate more extensive investigations.  When necessary, we will not hesitate to contact and cooperate fully with any and all local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies as well as examine and enact any and all appropriate legal action.
